 Mobile working: Who wants it?

While advancements in wireless technology have made the mobile workforce a reality, most employees don't want to work on the move, according to a recent survey ofreaders.
Just under fifteen per cent of respondents said they would choose to work 'always on the move'.
Though mobile working has been promoted as a way to increase efficiency, particularly for frequent travellers, it also lengthens the working day by turning commuting time, as well as evenings and weekends, into productive time.
The author of research released last autumn on mobile productivity went so far as to say: "White collar workers will have to realise they are blue collar workers in the 21st century."
The majority, in turns out, would rather work at home, with just over half of survey respondents choosing this option as their preferred place of business.
Meanwhile the office came in second, with 32 per cent of respondents saying they'd prefer the conventional choice.
The findings are based on a poll of 345readers.
