 AOL pushes cable-TV firms to free-up access

America Online (AOL) is lobbying cable-TV companies to open up their Internet pipelines to increase the amount of bandwidth available to businesses.
The 'Open Net' campaign hopes to enlist the help of US regulators in forcing cable-TV companies to open up their networks to anyone seeking a high-speed Internet route.
MCI Worldcom is also backing the campaign and AOL is hopes to recruit more allies from the retail, entertainment and financial industries.
