Responsibilities:
Sentry Insurance is currently seeking candidates for two new positions on our Internal Control Project (ICP) team located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Limited travel is required.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will work in a team environment to assist and instruct Company business areas in scoping, documenting, testing, and evaluating financial, operating and compliance controls. The position will provide exposure to the following areas:
• Insurance operations (Sales, Underwriting, Policy Processing, Claims).
• Insurance support functions (Investments, Actuarial, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Services).
Job Duties:
• Assist and instruct business areas on documenting their processes using flowcharts, narratives and control matrices.
• Assist business areas with identifying the risks and controls within their processes.
• Construct test plans for key controls and instruct business areas on implementing the test plans.
• Collaborate with business areas to identify opportunities for control improvements and communicate those opportunities to all levels of Company management.
Qualifications:
Ability to apply business, accounting or auditing principles, theories and concepts in diverse business areas. A college degree in areas such as Accounting, Information Systems, Insurance, or Auditing is required. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to pursue advanced studies toward professional designations. Previous experience in the insurance industry or auditing is desired. Strong organizational and communication skills are required. The successful candidate must have the ability to meet the travel requirements of the job.
